SKI WEAR

Ski clothing or ski suit is a suit designed and made to be worn over base and intermediate clothing layers while skiing or snowboarding. Ski clothes made for casual winter wear outdoors is also called a snowsuit and are often worn by kids as everyday outerwear in the winter season. Some suits are made specifically for snowboarders but ski apparel can generally be used by either skiers or snowboarders. A ski suit can either be one-piece, jumpsuit style, although this style is not very popular at this time. The two-piece ski suit, in the form of a ski jacket and ski trousers or ski bib is the for high performance skiing more popular form of ski clothes. All better quality ski clothing is made from wind- and water-resistant or waterproof fabric, and most have a non-removable liner made of nylon, silk, cotton or taffeta. Ski apparel is design to keep a person warm and dry while participating in winter sports, especially cross-country or down-hill skiing. The liner is important because it wicks and disperses body perspiration to keep the inner layers drier. the outerwaear of protection for the skier id generally referred to as ski attire, but the user often wears a base layer and even mid-layer(s) to suit individual preference and to match the weather. Recreational ski attire is generally loose fit for comfort. However, performance skiers such as competitive speed racing and competitive downhill skiing might wear skie attire that is very thin and skintight.

Ski outerwear are often made with Gore-Tex or similar waterproofing technologies. They are often in the form of a shell suit, to which the skier adds more or less warm underwear depending on the weather.

One-piece ski clothes

One-piece suits cover the torso, arms and legs. They have one or sometimes two zippers down the front of the suit and usually include a storm-flap with snaps or buttons. The storm flaps help keep the weather out of the zippers which are usually not water proof or windproof.
