The patent-pending Pulsefire LRT is a compact, lightweight, fully handheld flamethrower that sends a stream of flame up to 25 feet with the press of a button. Constructed primarily of aluminum, the Pulsefire is compact and easy to handle only 6 lb empty. When the voltage is low, the system will disable the trigger, letting you know it's time to charge or change the battery. Easy thumbscrew access to the battery compartment lets you charge or swap out your battery in seconds. Use for bonfires, snow & ice, weeds, insect hives, agriculture, pyrotechnics, forestry and film & tv. Includes battery, battery charger and user manual.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Pulsefire LRT legal where I live?
Exothermic says ownership is generally legal in the US with no background check. Maryland appears to prohibit possession, California requires a State Fire Marshal license for devices that throw a burning stream 10 ft or more, and Warren, Michigan bans possession by local ordinance. Laws vary by city and state, and the buyer is responsible for checking them.
Is there a California version?
Exothermic says its California-compliant LRT, which used a short-range fan nozzle to keep the stream under 10 ft, has been discontinued, and that it will return in 2026. This listing is the standard 25 ft model, and Exothermic's own page marks that model not legal in CA or MD.
What fuel does it use?
Unleaded gasoline of any octane works, from E0 to E85. For burning foliage, Exothermic recommends a gas-diesel mix of up to 50% diesel. Do not use colorants, which clog the pump, do not use napalm, and do not use or store diesel below 32 F.
How long does a tank last, and how long does the battery last?
The tank holds 0.35 gal. In Exothermic's tests about 38 seconds of fuel emission is typical for a standard tank, and the optional 3.3 gal backpack kit gives over 4 minutes of nonstop fire. A full battery charge runs about 15 full tanks, or about 2 with the backpack, and the trigger cuts out near 10.5 volts to tell you to recharge or swap.
What safety features does it have, and how do I transport it?
It has a red flip-up trigger cover, a nozzle valve that shuts flow off, a check valve between pump and nozzle, a non-pressurized tank and a low-voltage cutoff. Exothermic says to carry it with the battery disconnected, the fuel cap closed and the nozzle valve closed. Factory test fluid can remain in the lines, so never test-fire it indoors.
What is the warranty?
Exothermic backs its products with a limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, and repair is the sole remedy. Batteries are covered for 2 years. It applies only to products purchased and used in the US, and claims go through Exothermic.
