How do I choose my size?
Every size is two choices: a body size (Small to XXL) and a boot size (6, 8 or 10). Pick the boot size closest to your regular shoe size, then the body size for your build. Our staff's answers on this page say neoprene is not very forgiving, so allow extra room if you plan to layer or sit for long periods.
How should the boots fit?
Our staff say the boot should fit snug. They suggest thinner socks over jumping to a bigger or men's size, and a thicker sock if your heel slips.
Are these warm enough for duck season?
Retro is 4mm neoprene with 600g Thinsulate boots. Gator's duck wader guide lists Retro as its entry-level wader for cold weather and mid-season (30 to 50°F) hunts, and names the 1600g Shield for hunts below 30°F.
Can I wear them for ATV or UTV riding?
Yes. Gator's video calls Retro its original mudding wader, with a high rise and longer inseam so you can move naturally while riding.
How do I clean and repair them?
Hose them down, wash with mild dish soap, rinse, and hang to air dry in the shade away from heat, then condition the boots. To find a leak, submerge the waders, mark the spot, dry it and patch it. We carry a neoprene iron-on patch and Aquaseal NEO contact cement for neoprene repairs.
